WYSHTECH Warhead New Vanguard vs Solink V5

WYSHTECH Airsoft does a bench test and teardown of the Warhead Vanguard brushless motor, comparing it directly to the Solink V5. It starts with unboxing a sample long-shaft 45K variant, highlighting structural improvements like thickened connector tabs that seem ready to withstand enthusiastic installation errors. Other physical design changes include alignment screws to prevent the motor from shifting inside an M4 grip and a removable faceplate that allows users to swap shafts or install press-fit pinions without risking thermal damage to the control board.

Testing takes place on a specialized bench configuration utilizing 18:1 gears and an M140 spring to ensure the motors are appropriately challenged. In the initial test, the Vanguard draws fewer amps than the Solink in both semi-auto and full-auto configurations, though it produces a slightly lower rate of fire. To understand the variance, the tech guy brings out a laser tachometer, discovering that the Vanguard actually clocks in closer to 41,000 RPM under no load instead of its nominal 45,000 RPM rating.

When the Solink motor is reprogrammed down to match the Vanguard’s lower actual speed, it manages a slightly lower amp draw on full-auto but continues to consume more power during semi-automatic firing. Despite the minor discrepancy in the advertised rotational speed, WYSHTECH Airsoft favors the Vanguard because of its lower price point, balanced design that operates with less noise, and robust physical attributes.
