Is The DBoys ARX160 AEG Worth It?

M-Tactical reviews an entry-level airsoft replica of the Beretta ARX160 that is made by DBoys. They note that because it lacks an official Umarex/Beretta license, the AEG arrives in a plain cardboard box devoid of official logos. Despite this, the exterior design faithfully mimics the real rifle used by the Italian military, complete with an adjustable, folding stock and ambidextrous fire selectors shaped like cookies. However, folding the stock exposes the battery wiring, and navigating the magazine release buttons can lead to accidentally dropping the magazine while trying to close the bolt.
The replica retains a rapid barrel-change system, but this design choice forces the use of a proprietary hop-up unit made entirely of plastic. M-Tactical warns that this makes aftermarket upgrades challenging, turning the rifle more into a niche collector's piece or a platform for Call of Duty cosplayers rather than a highly customizable skirmish weapon. Additionally, the iron sights are chunky enough to block the user's view, and half of the lower rail is obstructed by a proprietary grenade launcher mount that is essentially useless in airsoft form.
During the firing test, the rifle performs decently for a budget choice, yielding acceptable target accuracy despite a long trigger pull. Inside, the gun uses a modified Version 3 gearbox combined with an industrial micro-switch for trigger response and it is recommended to beginners or Italian military enthusiasts who want a unique alternative to the standard M4, provided they send it to a good tech first to iron out the internal quirks.
