Simo's Cybergun/VFC SCAR-H GBB Review

Simo got a secondhand CyberGun SCAR-H gas blowback airsoft rifle, manufactured by VFC. Despite wearing a black shirt that accidentally blends in with the black rifle, he points out the authentic FN Herstal markings. Upon opening the gun up, he notices that unlike typical VFC models, there are very few steel parts inside. He encounters a few quirks during the reassembly process but manages to put everything back together using a tool built right into the front of the rifle.

Testing the performance reveals a few bumps in the road, starting with a broken scale that prevents him from properly weighing the gas. Overfilling the magazine causes the gun to jam initially, but once warmed up to a standard operating temperature, the rifle displays a sharp response. The reviewer notes that the recoil is quite punchy, though his excitement is slightly dampened by the magazine's low BB capacity, making it a bit tricky for actual field play.

The main challenge arises during full-auto testing when the magazine repeatedly slips into dry-fire mode on its own. After a closer look, the presenter discovers a loose lever on the magazine is shifting under the vibration of shooting. Displaying some classic airsoft resourcefulness, he stuffs a small piece of tissue paper into the mechanism as an emergency fix, which surprisingly solves the problem and allows the rifle to empty its magazine without further complaints.
