TCI BTH Ops-Core FAST & Highcut Helmet Conversion Kit

Gungho Cowboy

Wearing headsets is with OPS-CORE and other high-cut tactical helmets is an issue especially if we want to use the MSA Sordin, Peltor or Liberator Headsets. The ARC Rail Adapter is one solution, but a solution that also creates a new problem --- we cannot use the headset and helmet separately especially when we need to ditch the helmet but want to use the headset quickly in a tactical situation.

We always look for simple solutions to problems as these are more affordable and easier to use and understand. That's how Tactical Command Industries (TCI) approached the problem with a simple solution with their BTH Conversion Kit for these types of helmets. Whilst these were designed for the Liberator II and Liberator III BTH headsets, the kit can be just used to similar brands.

If you're watching the the NBC reality TV Show "Stars Earn Stripes" you might spot it in use the operators and celebrities competing in the show.

What the ARC Rail adapter fixes your headset to your helmet, and thus you will need to remove it from the mount it if you want to use the headset sans the helmet, and of course, attach it back to its proper headstrap so you can use it again with other headgear on as its. The kit also frees up the ARC Rail so you can fit in more accessories you need, such as a helmet camera or a tactical light.

According to TCI, it is also comfortable to use as it evenly distributes the weight of the headset across the shell of the helmet and if you need to cool your ears, you can easily reposition the earcups without a hitch.

Because it's made of straps, it means it's more affordable at a fraction of the cost of rail adapters. It costs at a special deal right now at TCI at US$28.00 from its regular retail price of US$45.00.  Not bad at all for a simple design that is more convenient to use than the more expensive helmet rail adapters. It might not be the most tacticool when using your headset with helmets, but it is much easier to use.
