In this video by Taktik Airsoft, they present VFC Colt M16A2, a replica of the rifle developed for the Marine Corps to provide better precision than its predecessors. This model features a thicker barrel profile to stop the wobbling and a rounded handguard designed for users with smaller hands. The muzzle brake has also been updated to avoid blowing dust into your face while lying on the ground, and it includes a rear sight adjustable for those who think they can actually hit a target at 800 meters.
One of the more quirky additions to this version is the burst fire function, which relies on an internal ratchet system. This mechanism is a bit stubborn; if you let go of the trigger before all three rounds are out, the gun remembers. It will insist on firing the remaining one or two rounds the next time you pull the trigger before it allows you to start a fresh burst. The rifle also includes a longer, reinforced stock and a grip that features a finger nub many users find quite annoying.
They also feature the Colt Model 733, a shorter carbine famously seen in movies like Heat and Blood Diamond. Unlike the standard M16A2, this one uses an older style upper receiver and offers full-auto functionality instead of the temperamental burst mode. It features a simple two-position stock, meaning your options for length are essentially long or short with no middle ground. They did not fire this one, noting that the Canadian cold was making the equipment just as grumpy as the person filming it.
