Suzuki Testing The Double Eagle M870 CO2 Shotgun

Suzuki checks the Golden Eagle M870 CO2 gas shotgun for its performance and consistency in a shooting range test. The CO2 system allows for stable firing in cold weather (around 16°C), providing over 100 shots per cartridge after an initial 20-shot break-in period. The reviewer found that heavier 0.28g BBs worked best for the 3-shot mode due to the strong hop-up effect.

However, he encountered a factory flaw where an internal screw interfered with the BB trajectory, which was corrected through modification. Additionally, the 6-shot mode frequently loaded only five BBs, causing gas to escape and reducing the muzzle velocity. The manufacturer advises against disassembling the shotgun to prevent safety issues and unauthorized power customization.

Despite the internal flaws, the shotgun's main appeal is its premium feel and realistic operation. It features a full-metal construction and a more accurate, slim profile compared to other models. The light cocking action and the loud, satisfying racking sound are said to be the best features, offering an excellent tactile experience.
