Jaeger Precision With The Secutor Centurion II MWS GBBR

Jaeger Precision gives his take on the new Secutor Centurion II, a new entry-level Gas Blowback Rifle (GBBR) that is a clone of the Tokyo Marui MWS system. Whilst Secutor is known for attractive packaging and branding, the reviewer notes that the rifle is essentially a rebranded Double Eagle product. He examines the tan finish, the bronze-colored rail, and the included accessories, such as a mock suppressor, which he finds to be of very low quality and suggests users might prefer to discard.

He expresses significant concerns regarding the internal components chosen for this specific rebrand. He criticizes the inclusion of an Angry Gun nozzle and a Maple Leaf hop-up rubber, noting that in his extensive experience, these parts often lead to poor consistency compared to the original Double Eagle or Marui components. During testing, he discovers that the hop-up rubber was already damaged from the factory and that the rifle initially shot above the advertised 1.5-joule limit, which he considers a significant oversight.

A large portion of the review is dedicated to a magazine compatibility test, where Jaeger Precision tries various MWS-spec magazines, including those from Tokyo Marui, Guns Modify, and CGS. Whilst the rifle generally functions with most third-party mags, he strongly dislikes the polymer "Dmag" included in the box. He argues that it is less efficient at accepting gas than standard metal STANAG magazines and recommends that users switch to Double Eagle or Salvo STANAG mags for better reliability and performance.

He says in the end that while the Secutor Centurion II is a functional rifle, it may not be the best value on the market. He points out that with so many Double Eagle models now available with superior furniture and authentic licensing, there is little incentive to choose this specific rebrand. He suggests that for a similar price, airsoft enthusiasts would be better off purchasing a Double Eagle model like the Daniel Defense MK18, which offers better out-of-the-box parts and more desirable aesthetics.
