6mm Badger Unboxes The EMG KS-1

6mm Badger does an unboxing of the new EMG KS-1 (WE-13), a licensed Knights Armament replica that retails for about $230. Whilst 6mm Badger is usually a fan of expensive gas blowback models, he seems surprised that this budget-friendly AEG includes official branding and specific details like the Royal Marines dagger logo. Despite its polymer construction, the build feels sturdy enough to survive a day at the field without falling apart.

For the price of a decent pistol, buyers get a starter package that typically includes a battery and charger, though the his early review sample was missing those particular snacks. The internals are surprisingly capable, featuring a tight-bore barrel and a thermal ETU system to prevent the gun from having a mid-game meltdown. If you feel like being a menace, slapping in an 11.1v battery reportedly pushes the rate of fire to 30 rounds per second, which is a lot of plastic moving through the air very quickly.

The package comes with some quirky extras, including a speed loader, a generous bag of BBs, and some safety glasses that the host suggests you might want to swap for something a bit more substantial. It also features a modular grip system so you can customize the feel for your fingers. While 6mm Badger isn't ready to give up his high-end gear just yet, he admits this is a solid option for anyone looking to get into the hobby without burning a hole in the pocket.
