TWHAP! My team mate Saicho heard it and noticed his finger turning red. HIT! And off he went to the regen area. TWHAP! And I saw the bb hitting the back of the CIRAS vest of another team mate, Spectre. HIT! And off he went right after Saicho towards the regen area. I was left alone in our sector, and I needed some backup quick. I squirmed behind a tree, hoping that I get to find better cover and the TWHAP! TWHAP! continued as the unseen shooter tried to put a bead on me.
Welcome to the United Kingdom, the Nanny State, the Big Brother State, where Close Circuit TV (CCTV) cameras are just a normal thing. The UK is the most CCTV-laden country in the world, where almost every corner has a camera watching people's movements to prevent crime and terrorism. Some may be dummies to act as deterrent, others sport loudspeakers to call on those who throw litter on the street to pick their garbage, speed cameras, shop cameras....lotsa lotsa cameras.
ARRRR---PEEEE---GEEEEE!!!! Would that be a nice shout to hear when playing milsim games and quickly duck or find a place to hide? You can reenact Blackhawk Down if you get to have some RPGs available for your OPFOR to use. You can complete your "terrorist" loadout with this nicety, and it'll really spice up your skirmish day firing this thing off, or think of yourself as John Rambo. I think there are two airsoft RPGs in the market, one coming from ASG and the other one from the Far East as made available by Gunner Airsoft.
We have received enquiries from those who purchased a copy of the Popular Airsoft Magazine and they want to download issue 1. We would like to remind that those who have purchased the magazine in March 2008 were the only ones who were able to download the maiden issue. Each issue release will not appear at the website after a new release is made available.
We all remember when we were young boys (and girls) that we pranced around the house or in the garden playing cowboys and indians, and of course, dressed as cowboys and indians. There were no bad guys, good guys, we're oblivious to it, we just play the game galloping in makeshift horses made of broomsticks, and shouting at each other "Bang! Bang! You're dead!". We even play dead. Now, that's milsim for kids for you.
This is not actually a Real Steel (RS) wiki of a real gun, but as airsoft replicas based on Anime shows from Japan are coming out, might as well dig up Wikipedia to find the entry on Seburo. While many will wonder why some airsoft manufacturers are coming out with these types of airsoft guns, there is a huge generation of airsoft players who are very much familiar with Anime shows, and sci-fi and fantasy conventions are filled up with attendees wearing their favourite anime character.
We will be doing a site upgrade this weekend. We are not yet sure the day and time, but most likely it will be on Sunday, 6 April 2008. If you encounter loading problems, an "Error 404", or "Site Down for Maintenance" on Sunday, our apologies, the site upgrade will have been ongoing by then. The site will return to normal news posting on Monday, 7 April 2008.
It was a wet Saturday, but the rains failed to dampen the spirits of various Filipino airsoft teams from all over the United Kingdom to gather and just let all the bbs out. The Gathering is an annual event of the ACE Brigade running on its second year, and is gathering more and more airsoft players each year. Last year's first The Gathering, which was held in Combat South, Portsmouth had 100 players. This year's Reloaded gathered 130 players at the Longmoor MOD Training Camp.
The April 2008 issue of the Popular Airsoft Magazine is now released! This time we've got 129 pages of articles and stories. We're writing more and more now since the Maiden issue, and we're targetting more pages in the next issues. There are lots of stuff we want to write about, but to reduce download sizes without compromising the quality of content, we moved the other stories for the future issues of the magazine.
Editor's Note: We are posting here online a sample article taken from the upcoming Volume 1 Issue 2, April 2008 of the Popular Airsoft Magazine. This article will give you an idea on what our main theme for the April 2008 issue is. Written by Mike, formerly of the 101st Airborne Division, 18th Airborne Corps, who is an army medic himself, he stresses on the importance of having a medic appointed in any airsoft team.
