One of the wishes of the airsoft community is to have a version of the Cornershot, which unfortunately is an ubergizmo that would make it out of reach for most of us given all the technologies included in the kit such as the monitor, light source and laser designator that even governments don't equip their armies with it (said to be around US$5,000 or even higher) and remains limited to special units.
The dream of any army is to have a bullet that will home in on the opponent even from afar or when changing positions. The US Army has been on the lookout for this one and Sandia National Laborities has obliged with the development of this. Definitely this will revolutionize warfare as it will keep armies at bay when confronted by an opposing army armed with self-guided bullets.
The battle between humans and aliens goes on as the game adaptation of "Aliens" movie has spawned, literally a good number of video games, dominated by the "Alien vs Predator". In this upcoming movie being developed by Gearbox Software and to be published by Sega, called the "Aliens: Colonial Marines", this game has been a long time coming, as it traces its title way back 2011.
That's what Lieutenant Colonel Rob Riggle, USMC, guarantees you when you join the Call of Duty Elite Premium Service. So prepare to disappoint everyone (your mom, your dad, your girlfriend, etc.), even your wallet, as it will cost US$50.00 per year to get access to new maps, intel, and if you're diligent enough, study all the possibilities to go up the leaderboards.
We hope we all got your attention as we encourage those who haven't cast their votes to start doing so right now. Today's the final call to vote for the 2nd Airsoft Players' Choice Awards, and indeed the finalists in each of the categories are anxious to get your vote.
The Greatwatermelon is becoming a regular contributor to Popular Airsoft as he gives us updates on the latest airsoft stuff that he finds. We always appreciate our readers to do give us tips and updates on what we fail to find, since, well, we're just human and we cannot possibly unearth everything about airsoft. Our loyal readers make up for the slack and they're always valuable to us, since without them, Optimus Prime could have closed the curtains on this website.
With the race for the best modular precision sniper rifle for the US SOCOM still ongoing, FN Herstal goes into the game with their Ballista Sniper Rifle. Its similarities with its competitors are the use of rails at almost the whole length of the sniper rifle and folding or collapsing stock. The funny thing is that these PSRs being shown to us by the different manufacturers almost look alike, that its hard to distinguish one from the other at first glance.
I have to say that, personally, this might be the best thing on display at the SHOT Show 2012 that most of our friends from the airsoft media who were there missed. This DoubleStar Corp Zombie-X AK with Chain Saw is something I want replicated, or even just created as a custom airsoft gun as long as it comes with Chain Saw.
We're pretty sure you want one and you can have the chance to win the KRISS Vector Gas Blowback Submachine Gun courtesy of KRISS Arms. Yep, you got that right, the actual owner of the KRISS Vector is organising this contest rather than KWA. That's a good thing to see that a real firearms company having a very proactive approach in promoting replicas of their products to the airsoft market.
With all those SHOT 2012 airsoft goodies, I was supposed to discuss about Beat Down Boogie's trip to event for the weekend, but some SHOT 2012 airsoft stories took priority. As mentioned by Tim Ellwood of No Airsoft for Old Men Blog, they were to be at Las Vegas to check out all the guns and gear that Ghost and Snake would love to take home, as they saw a "Billion Guns" there which would provide them with enough wet dreams to last them a lifetime.
