Another Sniper Rifle You Want For Airsoft: FNH Ballista

Logan

With the race for the best modular precision sniper rifle for the US SOCOM still ongoing, FN Herstal goes into the game with their Ballista Sniper Rifle. Its similarities with its competitors are the use of rails at almost the whole length of the sniper rifle and folding or collapsing stock. The funny thing is that these PSRs being shown to us by the different manufacturers almost look alike, that its hard to distinguish one from the other at first glance.

Anyway, according to the Firearms Blog, it is a modular sniper rifle, "Easily convertible from .338 Lapua, .300win mag, and .308. Swapping out calibers can be done under 1.5-2 minutes, and is done so by loosening 4 captive barrel screws, and uses a self-adjusting bolt for proper head-spacing." You can do the change yourself from one caliber to another in under 2-3 minutes. The trigger can be adjusted from 2 to 5 pounds.

With an overall length of 49 inches and 47.74 when the stock is collapsed. Full adjustable with its build material being a combination of aluminum, steel, and polymers to at 17lbs. though we don't know if this weight includes the magazine. Here's a video of the first looks when it was shown in August 2011 by Guns and Ammo, and followed by another video of it being fired at the shooting range during the Shot Show 2011 done by the Gun Blog.

It would be nice to have an airsoft version of this. But if you are an airsoft gun manufacturer, better get to Cybergun first as they have the rights to the trademarks of FNH for the airsoft market. So no tip-toeing around on this, Cybergun would want to eke out what is due to them and FNH, whether you like it or not.
