Colonial Marines Get Another Shot At The Aliens

Gungho Cowboy

The battle between humans and aliens goes on as the game adaptation of "Aliens" movie has spawned, literally a good number of video games, dominated by the "Alien vs Predator". In this upcoming movie being developed by Gearbox Software and to be published by Sega, called the "Aliens: Colonial Marines", this game has been a long time coming, as it traces its title way back 2011. With Sega cooperating with 20th Century Fox, this game has been delayed many times ever since they announced further development in 2006.

It seems that 2012 will be the year that this game will be released, though the plan to release this will be in the Fall of this year, but we'll never know, it's almost trying to beat the record of Duke Nuke `Em 3D in development. Anyway, this game is a first person shooter one, and you get to battle it out against the acid spewing and always evolving aliens that Sigourney Weaver had trounced in the Aliens movie series.

If you want a preview of this game, you can read a preview of 3 News written by Angus Deacon. Though I am more interested in knowing more about the weaponry that will be deployed in this game, especially the pulse rifle and the smartgun. Moreso, it is said that the game will not have a heads up display (HUD) but the motion sensor tool will help you navigate your way through the game play. A multiplayer version is also in the works, but not much details yet.

Just recently, Sega released a Cinematic HD Trailer for the game, which you can watch below and a walkthrough of what you can expect from game. So will it ever get released? Let's see, and for now you can still content yourself with the existing FPS games which were just recently released.

But if Sega is targeting the fall of 2012, then it might be in competition with the Call of Duty or Battlefield series as that's the season when these two biggest FPS video games usually release their new titles.
