Our friends from NLAirsoft did some initial digging around after we posted the story about The Wuster/AirSplat filing a case against some companies which might be related to the ongoing case filed by Glock against them... "Latest speculations about the lawsuit tell us Wuster Inc. or Da Wuster is going after their USA partners. The GLOCK saga in the USA continues and Airsplat's former owner is now including third parties into the lawsuit.

Important Update On The EU Firearms Law

Matt Furey-King sends us an update on the European Airsoft Association's lobbying efforts to prevent airsoft to be classified as firearms and it's positive news but they also appeal to continue the pressure as the proposed amendment will need to be approved first... "As you should be aware, since November last year the EU has been considering a proposal to amend the firearms directive which would classify replicas, including airsoft devices, as real firearms. They also wanted to ban any firearm of ‘military appearance’.

Police Shoot Dead Man w/ Airsoft Gun In Cheviot

Police in Cincinnati shot dead a man after he reached for what looked like a gun from his waist in the adjacent city of Cheviot last 17 February 2016. Before that, the man crashed his truck to a pole, stumbled out and appearing to be intoxicated and dropped a gun. He picked up the gun and began walking down the road, waving the gun in the air. Later on, upon closer inspection, the weapon retrieved was an airsoft pistol.

Man Shoots Woman w/ Airsoft Gun, Gets Jailed

Here is one very lucky 26 year old man in Singapore who is sentenced to jail for seven weeks and a fine of $12,000 in Singaporean dollars for possessing and importing an airsoft gun. What makes him even luckier is that he even shoots a woman passerby and injuring her with an airsoft gun.

Airsoft For 16+ Petition In The Netherlands

Airsoft has been legal in the Netherlands for over three years now, with the law allowing airsoft taking effect last 1 January 2013. However, the law only allows individuals 18 years old and above to legally play airsoft and should belong to a registered airsoft association. The NABV (Dutch Airsoft Association) is the only registered airsoft association so far.

Online Petition Against SB1315

If you haven't done anything yet in the campaign against CA SB1315, especially if you're based in California, it's time to do something now. An online petition has been set up at Change.org where it's targetting 10,000 online signatures. Priority for signatures will be California airsoft players as they will be the ones which the legislators will hear out. If you have friends in California, please do direct them to this, even if they are not airsoft players but agree to their position against the bill.

New Jersey Bill to Classify Airsoft as Firearms

Tim Ellwood writes in his blog about Senate Bill S454 that aims to put the nuclear option in classifyiing air guns and airsoft guns and lump them with the real steel weapons... "Airsoft guns are already restricted in NJ, we have done training evolutions with a navy unit up there in the past and it is always a nightmare traveling up with the training guns and gear. If you read the bill, it is a clarification, most areas up there already treat them as firearms.
