AirsoftNEXT features a first-person perspective of an airsoft match where the player is using an XM177E1 CGS gas blowback rifle (GBBR) just right out of the box. The action takes place in a variety of environments, ranging from open fields filled with stacks of tires and wooden pallets to the interior of dilapidated buildings. Throughout the gameplay, the player demonstrates the rifle's performance in out of the box condition, navigating through cover and engaging other participants in a series of tactical skirmishes.

The player spends a significant amount of time maneuvering around a tire city and checking corners in abandoned structures that have seen better days. There is a clear focus on the mechanical feedback of the GBBR, with frequent reloads and the audible clack of the bolt adding to the immersion. While the player is quite focused on the objective, there are plenty of moments where they find themselves playing a high-stakes game of hide-and-seek behind stacks of rubber.

In terms of strategy, the gameplay involves a lot of crouching, peeking, and the occasional sprint to reach a more advantageous position.
