Tokyo Marui announced that the Standard Type MS Li-Po Starter Set is scheduled for release on 30 October. This anticipated product focuses on providing a cohesive and safer experience for users moving to Li-Po batteries. The set centers around a 7.4vtext 1500mAh Li-Po battery that offers a substantial capacity while maintaining a compact and lightweight form. Its design also offers improved trigger response time and is built to operate reliably across a range of temperatures, with low self-discharge for better long-term performance.
The battery itself incorporates a suite of safety features designed to protect both the component and the user. It is equipped with five built-in protection functions, including mechanisms to prevent issues like over-discharging, over-charging, and short circuits. Additionally, the battery features an internal temperature sensor. This sensor allows compatible electric guns and chargers to monitor the battery's temperature, stopping operation if it falls outside of the acceptable range or registers an anomaly.
A dedicated MS Li-Po battery charger is included to complete the set. This unit is engineered to work specifically with Tokyo Marui's MS Li-Po batteries, leveraging the battery's built-in safety features and temperature sensor. The charger adds its own layer of safety with six separate protection functions that manage factors such as charging current, voltage, and temperature. These features contribute to a more secure charging, usage, and storage cycle for the battery.
The charger also introduces a helpful storage mode. Pressing the "STOR" button initiates an automatic process that either charges or discharges the battery until its voltage reaches a level appropriate for safe, long-term storage. User status updates for standby, charging, or storage are provided through an LED indicator and an audible buzzer. An integrated warning system uses distinct flashing patterns and sounds to notify the user if any abnormality is detected during operation.
The protective Lipo battery pouch seen in the photo below is a separate purchase.
