Gas Blowback Airsoft Tokyo Marui G19 Gen5 Compared To Gen3 & Gen4

Gas Blowback Airsoft reviews the Tokyo Marui G19 Gen5 airsoft pistol, fresh out of its presentation-heavy box. The package includes the usual suspects: a manual, backstraps for those with specific grip preferences, and a specialized optics plate for mounting micro dot sights. While he isn't a fan of the "beaver tail" look or adding optics to his sidearms, he notes the build quality of the plastic slide is sturdy enough to handle some serious use without breaking a sweat.

Technically speaking, the Gen5 is a departure from its predecessors, featuring a redesigned internal hammer system and a snappier recoil that might actually be faster than a viewer's morning caffeine intake. He compares it to the Gen3 and Gen4 models, highlighting the new ambidextrous controls and the removal of finger grooves on the grip—a relief for anyone whose fingers didn't quite fit the previous molds. The trigger also receives a thumbs-up for having a firm "wall" and a clean break, making it feel more responsive than earlier versions.

Performance tests show the pistol firing consistently around the 0.7 to 0.8 joule range with standard green gas. While the FPS might drop slightly during a string of shots, it remains a stable choice for a compact sidearm. Gas Blowback Airsoft says that this model sits high on the list of gas blowback pistols currently available, even if the barrel's paint finish shows wear faster than one might expect. It seems Tokyo Marui has managed to pack a lot of engineering into a small, albeit plastic, package.
