Mach Sakai does a head-to-head comparison of the LayLax SIG M17 (CO2) and the Tokyo Marui P320 (traditional gas). Key physical differences he points out are the M17 having more extensive and realistic external markings, while the magazines are not interchangeable between the two models, and the M17's slide is heavier to rack.
The most significant difference lies in the shooting experience. The M17's CO2 system delivers a much stronger, more instantaneous recoil, which he finds to be more realistic and impactful, though it also results in the pistol being noticeably louder. The P320, using standard green gas, offers a less forceful recoil.
In terms of handling and accuracy, the P320 is easier to manage, featuring a lighter trigger pull (1116g) compared to the M17 (1407g). Mach Sakai achieved a tighter grouping with the Tokyo Marui P320 at 15 meters, suggesting better practical accuracy despite the M17's superior recoil sensation.
