6mm Badger Fixing The VFC AVS74U Tracer Problem

Having an issue installing a tracer unit to the VFC AVS74U GBB? Here is a fix by 6mm Badger... "The VFC AKS-74U GBBR is easily one of my favourite replicas right now — but it has one very real issue: the inner barrel is so long that most tracer units simply don’t work.

In this video, I’m trying to finally solve that problem.

I’ve already shown a couple of solutions that do work:

  • The eShooter Flare Smoky BT, where the sensor sits high enough to still detect BBs
  • A SIG suppressor cover over a tracer unit (functional, but… let’s be honest, a bit cursed on an AK)

This time, I place an order from Evike to test a much cleaner, AK-appropriate option.

What I cover in this video:

  • Why most tracers fail on the AKS-74U
  • A look at barrel extensions as a possible workaround (and why I’m unsure)
  • A new Quantum Industries hop rubber I may install later
  • Unboxing and testing the eShooter Flare Alu-Alloy Tracer Case (Case B)
  • Installing the eShooter Flare MBT tracer unit inside it
  • Why this setup finally works properly with the long inner barrel
  • Visual comparisons vs SIG / KAC-style suppressor covers
  • What I’m sticking with for this build (for now)

This new Alu-Alloy Case B keeps the tracer sensor far enough forward to function correctly, looks aggressive and compact, and fits the AK aesthetic far better than running Western suppressors.

For now — this is the setup I’m running on the VFC AKS-74U."
