In this 4UAD Smart Airsoft video, Andrew attempts to build a custom sniper rifle stock for an airsoft KJ Works M700 using basic materials and a modest budget. The project begins with a cardboard prototype to test the ergonomics and overall shape, drawing inspiration from classic designs like the M40. The initial ambition is to stick to simple hand tools, but the reality of working with solid wood soon turns the workshop into a scene of sweat and sawdust.
The middle of the project reveals the classic DIY trap: things are rarely as easy as they look on paper. After discovering that some wood is too brittle, Andrew switches to a plywood "sandwich" method for better durability. To get the internal components to fit snugly, he resorts to a mixture of tissue paper and super glue to fill gaps—proving that if you can't be precise, you can at least be resourceful with household paper products.
By the end, the stock is sanded, painted, and tested on the range with surprisingly good results and accuracy. Despite the success, he offers a piece of sage advice for anyone thinking of following in his footsteps: unless you truly enjoy weeks of manual labor and breathing in wood dust, it is much easier and cheaper to just buy a pre-made stock. It turns out that a one-dollar challenge often costs a lot more in time and sanity than expected.
