Fulcrum Airsoft Bouncing Betty VS Claymore Mine

A comparison of land mines for airsoft use done by Fulcrum... "In this airsoft video, I discuss the benefits of my airsoft Claymore and Bouncing Betty, the drawbacks and scenarios where both mines are useful. As regular viewers know I do like a good airsoftlandmine and I strive to send the enemy back to respawn in the most creative ways possible!

The airsoft Claymore is a directional anti-personnel mine which is externally fired using an electronic detonator system. This allows for a variety of deployments, including tripwires, booby traps and command detonation for ambushes. The drawbacks to this flexibility include increased time to deploy due to the external firing system whilst the narrow kill zone also allows for enemies to approach the mine from outside the killzone and potentially defuse it.

The Bouncing Betty mine, known as the BMU22, is a bounding anti-personnel mine which jumps upwards and detonates at waist height. The killzone covers 360 degrees which makes the mine unapproachable once its armed. The mine also has it's own self-contained fuze system, using 3 PIR sensors to detect movement in a 360 degree circle. This mine doesn't have the flexibility and reliability of the Claymore but instead makes up for that by being a lot quicker to deploy, once it is deployed and armed it is also impossible to defuse. The biggest benefit the #bouncingbetty has over the Claymore is that the blast radius is much larger, in fact I reckon anyone within 10 metres is at risk of setting it off and potentially being hit. This makes the bounding mine better suited for denying large open areas from the enemy, whereas the Claymore is better suited for chokepoints and doorways.

To be fair to these mines they are not exactly comparable. But both mines can somewhat do the others job. The Claymore can be used to mine open areas and the bounding mine could still be used for mining objectives. For versatility the Claymore wins hands down, but for sheer firepower and threat the bounding mine takes that trophy."
