Airsofters In Thailand & Ireland Help in Haiyan Relief Ops

OptimusPrime

It is very much heartening to note that airsofters from different parts of the world are coming together to do whatever they can to support relief operations for victims of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in Central Philippines. As we have announced before, there are many ways to help, either as individuals and organisations. But some airsoft communities organised their own events to help raise funds.

Apart from NYCAirsoft and Moondog Industries event for Team Rubicon's Operation Seabird, the weekend was an eventful one as airsofters in Thailand and Ireland held their events to get donations and relief goods to send to the Philippines.

THASA-FPS Mini-Steel Challenge Charity Event

Our friends from THASA (Thailand Airsoft Shooting Association) have been very much supportive of the Filipino Practical Shooters (FPS) in Thailand and their club has been the home for Filipino Expat shooters and their families. According to Normandy Samson of FPS, THASA Founder Pi Boyd Hongdalud and the rest of the Association opened the doors of the club for the Mini-Steel Challenge Exhibition Charity Event which was last Saturday to raise funds to buy medicine and other relief goods to send to the Philippines. ThaiTrex donated an airsoft gun for the event. THASA' Dusadee Bualert explained that the event was based on the USPA style Steel Challenge which is easier and faster for a lot of people.

Furtthermore, Dusadee Bualert says that this is also served as a preliminary event for the upcoming THASA events in December 2013, where there are scheduled big airsoft practical shooting events tailored to different types of shooters and international airsoft practical shooters are expected to attend.

Apart from the proceeds from the event, their friends from Holcim Thailand also contributed and they were able to have pack 151 packages of home remedy medicine kits. Other noted individuals who were at the event was Alex Cruz, more known as Bandit of Bandit Airsoft, who is now based in Bangkok and Leo Cheung from WGC Shop who is familiar to many of us with his YouTube airsoft video reviews for WGC Shop.

Force Recon Airsoft Group -Ireland (FRAG Ireland) Airsoft Fundraising For Haiyan Survivors

Now we go to Ireland where there's also a very active community of Filipino Airsofters under FRAG Ireland (Filipinos bring their love of airsoft everywhere). They held their fund raising event at the  Rathbeggan Lakes, Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Ireland last Saturday as they brought their friends and fellow Irish airsofters together.

According to Abu Jasem's repor who also posted these photost, they gave thanks to Dave Robinson and their fellow airsofters for helping them raise 1,342.70 Euros which they turned over Father Pat O'Connel to course it through the Catholic charities Philippines active in the relief efforts.

Typhoon Haiyan victims? Get in touch with us as we would like to hear and write about your activities and for Filipinos around the world to be grateful for your help. Big or small, any help send to the victims will go a long way.
