U.S. Army Testing Tracking Point

Military.com's Kit Up! Blog writes about recent developments regarding the new Tracking Point Technology, which enables existing rifles to become Smart Rifles, making sure that when the trigger is squeezed, the technology makes all quick calculations to ensure that it hits the mark. U.S. Army's PEO Soldier are now testing this technology for testing if it can be actually used in the battlefield, purchasing 6 units of the system.

A new video released by Tracking Point shows a 3D animation in which the characters show how the Tracking Point System is used. This is like the auto track focus features in many digital cameras today with the shooter pressing the trigger but the rifle not firing until the marked area is aligned with the rifle making mistakes fewer and perhaps even rarer.
