Taurus USA made waves in the firearms industry with the introduction of their first optics-ready defensive revolvers, the 856 and 605 Taurus Optics Ready Option (T.O.R.O.) revolvers. These models were met with great enthusiasm by consumers. Building on this success, Taurus has now expanded the T.O.R.O. revolver line with the addition of The Judge T.O.R.O., making the market’s most popular multi-calibre revolver optics-ready.

The Taurus Judge 45 Colt/410, aptly named for its popularity among court judges for protection, is a versatile firearm that can chamber both .410 shotshell and .45 Colt Ammunition. This makes it an ideal choice for short distances where most altercations occur, or for longer distances when using the .45 Colt ammo. Expertly adjusted by Taurus, the rifling can spread the shot pattern at close quarters or guide the .45 cal. bullet to the target. The Judge comes fully customized with fixed rear sights, fiber optic front sights, and Taurus Rubber Grips, making it a reliable decision-maker in any situation.

T.O.R.O. stands for Taurus Optics Ready Option. After successfully integrating this system into their 856 and 605 T.O.R.O. revolvers earlier this year, Taurus has now brought this feature to The Judge. This expansion brings four different variants of the optics-ready system to The Judge line.

A standout feature of the Taurus revolver family is the Taurus Security System. This system provides instant defence readiness and a built-in ability to secure your pistol, rendering it inoperable with a simple turn of a key. When engaged, it prevents the pistol from being fired or cocked, and the manual safety cannot be disengaged. The device is integrated into the firearm so it cannot be lost, and one special Security Key can be used for both the revolver and pistol Systems.

Each Judge T.O.R.O. model comes with a 3-inch barrel available in either matte black or stainless steel finishes. The key difference between models lies in their cylinders, which can accommodate either 2.5- or 3-inch .410 shotshells. All models feature a smooth double-action trigger and fiber-optic front sight for those who prefer not to use an optic. For those who do prefer optics, the T.O.R.O. is ready to accept Holosun K-series or Shield RMSc footprint optics.

Key features of these models include an optics plate designed specifically for Holosun K-Series and Shield RMSC footprint optics, cylinders that can handle high-powered 410 shotshell loads, comfortable rubber grips that absorb recoil while providing a secure grip, a sturdy stainless steel frame and cylinder built for any scenario, and a finely tuned double-action trigger for quick shooting and a crisp single-action trigger for precision.

“What’s better than a Judge? A Judge with a dot on it,” said Caleb Giddings, General Manager of Marketing for Taurus USA. “The Judge is without a doubt our most popular revolver, and adding a red dot to it just enhances its capabilities.”

The new Taurus Judge T.O.R.O. is available through authorized sellers of Taurus USA at a price of US$615.99.
