S&W Response

Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. has recently unveiled its latest product, the S&W Response, a pistol caliber carbine (PCC). This marks the company’s first foray into the realm of MSR-style PCCs, which are known for their compatibility with a wide range of existing MSR parts and accessories. The Response is chambered in 9mm and boasts a 23+1 capacity. It comes with two 23-round M&P double-stack magazines. The standout feature of this new carbine is its FLEXMAGTM System, which includes interchangeable magwell adaptors that enable the firearm to function with various S&W and other manufacturer magazines.

The S&W Response’s design incorporates familiar MSR controls, making it an easy transition for those who plan to use it on the range. The ability to swap parts with existing MSR accessories further enhances its versatility. This means you can easily customize the Response to suit your specific needs. It can work seamlessly with a range of MSR stocks, triggers, grips, and charging handles.

The Response is packed with features designed to enhance its performance and user experience. It sports a 16.5” threaded barrel and a polymer handguard equipped with a Picatinny-style rail and M-LOK slots. Other notable features include a Magpul MOE SL stock, a flat face trigger, and an M&P grip that comes with four interchangeable palmswell adapters.

Despite its robust feature set, the Response maintains a lightweight profile, weighing just under 6.0 pounds. When fully extended, it measures 35-3/8 inches in length. The package includes two FLEXMAG kits that are compatible with either 9mm M&P double-stack or Glock-style 9 mm magazines.

“The Smith & Wesson Response is our solution for the PCC shooter that enjoys MSR platforms and prefers interfacing capabilities with various pistol magazines available in the market today. Its compatibility with the vast network of MSR aftermarket accessories allows the user to easily customize the Response to their specific preferences and needs. Smith & Wesson listened to the consumer and our goal was to deliver a completely versatile pistol caliber carbine that would be a perfect companion to your sidearm. This design is our response,” said John Myles, Senior Product Manager.
