Last week, we got information from Hong Kong airsoft players spotting Mr. Frog, the Sales and Marketing Director of APS Concept/Airsoft in the media videos and photos trying to remove the barricades by Pro Democracy activists in Mong Kok. Mong Kok is an area where many airsoft businesses are located in Hong Kong. He was set upon by the protesters to prevent him from dismantling the barricade but the police were able to separate him from the protesters.

Hong Kong airsoft players sympathetic or supporting the pro-democracy movement have been calling for a boycott of airsoft products from APS, accusing him of being anti-democractic. Matt-Furey King was able to get a statement from Mr. Frog and forwarded it to us. We are posting the statement in fill here for you to make your own conclusions. The statement starts right below the photos:

Hong Kong was facing the severe situation that many people suffered and beyond endurance.

“Occupy Central” protesters vowed to be peaceful and non-violent in high words for democracy, by using the arbitrary way to pressure the Chinese Government for granting an electoral system in Hong Kong Chief Executive election in 2017.  The Protesters blocked the main roads not only in Central District and Admiralty on Hong Kong Island, but also Mongkok - the area of general citizens carried their work and business. They ignored the law, ignored the community orders, and even ignored others’ livelihood.

On 4th of October, I attempted to cut the plastic-bands tied on steel-stand that blocked the way near Argyle Street in Mongkok.  To avoid the criticism for associating with anti-Occupy demonstrators, I went to the destination alone with a ball-pen in my pocket only.  As I started the action at a street corner for few seconds, over ten Protesters approached and yelled towards me, what I heard was “knocked him down before beating”! I struggled for survival in this adverse situation and tried to stand up again, but the Protesters hit even fierce and attacking my head and face.  I was saved by the Police Force finally, and I supported the Police Force.

After I experienced the atmosphere in-person, I felt really frustrated in what the “Occupy Central” founder stated it was a peaceful campaign.  Protesters were deteriorated and mostly were radicalized.  They raised their hands to show the peaceful in front of cameras but entirely violent behind the screen.  I just want to redeem the normal lives in my homeland with limited power, I demolished the obstacles that paralyzed the public gateway, with a pen in my hand only, but I was defamed as a rioter, a gangster and a triad criminal!  It was the Hong Kong mass-medias and Protesters justified the persons who disagreed with the “Occupy Central” demonstration.  I was defined as a rioter with a knife in hand, to attack the peaceful protesters in Mongkok, followed with photos disclosure and hundreds of humiliation through social forum!

Somebody had persuaded me to make an apology to depress the anger of the public.  I really appreciated that they were caring about the impact on my business.  However, I strongly believed that the social conscience and mission in life worth much more.  The Protesters ruined the peacefulness and stability in advance of all other achievement, should we tolerate and not taking the civil obligation?

I shall doubtlessly responsible for the personal action I have taken.  I also apologize with deepest sincerity to any person affected in the matter.
