The SLEDS-K Placard, an AK-optimized variant of the original SLEDS Placard, was developed to meet several key requirements. It maintains the re-indexing and retrieval performance of the original SLEDS, is fully compatible with AK and similar lugged magazines, and offers adjustable magazine retention. It features greater lower pouch coverage to prevent dust and mud ingress and retains the admin pocket functionality of the original SLEDS.

It can carry .308, 5.56, 7.62x39, 9mm, and other similar magazines without the need for bulky, expensive Velcro inserts. The SLEDS-K pouch design is lower profile and approximately 30% lighter than comparable injection-molded and Kydex magazine pouch designs, outperforming all similarly capable market options in overall system weight.
