Sightmark Solitude XD

Sightmark has released the Solitude XD binoculars, a line built around upgraded ergonomics and XD extra-low dispersion glass. The optics feature fully multi-coated lenses and phase-corrected dielectric prism coatings that transmit more than 85% of available light, supporting visibility in low-light conditions such as dawn and dusk. Both the 8x42 and 10x42 models include Bak-4 roof prisms and nitrogen-filled, IPX7-rated construction to resist fogging and moisture in wet or unpredictable weather. Weighing 24 ounces, the binoculars are designed to remain manageable during extended time in the field.

The 8x42 model is positioned as a wide field-of-view option suited to birdwatching, general wildlife observation, and travel, where users prioritise a broad image and steady handling over long sessions. The 10x42 offers 25% more reach and is aimed at hunters and observers working open country or longer distances. Both models include a resettable diopter zero for personalised focus and a large central focus dial for fine adjustment.

The Solitude XD line is intended for a range of outdoor users — from hunters glassing ridgelines to travellers seeking optics that capture landscapes beyond what a camera records. Sightmark has positioned the two models as complementary tools depending on the environment: the 8x42 for immersive, all-day observation and the 10x42 for situations where distance and precision are the priority.
