Okisaba With The Tokyo Marui G36K NGRS

Okisaba does a lighthearted review of the Tokyo Marui G36K NGRS that is roughly 17 years old. He admits he accidentally bought it after his friends all agreed to coordinate their outfits with M4 rifles, leaving him as the odd one out. Despite being a bit of an aging relic in the airsoft world, the group finds humor in its quirks, such as the surprisingly low secondhand price and its relative rarity on modern playing fields.

Technical critiques are delivered with a grin, particularly regarding the built-in 1.5x magnification scope, which the Okisaba jokingly describes as more of a nuisance than a helpful tool. To see through it properly, one has to crane their neck in a way that mimics a turtle, and the eye relief is so short that your face is practically glued to the plastic. There is also a bit of a struggle with the battery compartment cover, which seems to have a mind of its own and likes to fall off during use.

On the firing range, the G36K shows its age with somewhat inconsistent accuracy and a muzzle velocity that makes being hit feel more like a mild itch than a tactical defeat. However, the heavy recoil and the clanging sound of the blowback mechanism earn it plenty of points for pure entertainment value. While the bulky magazines don't fit into standard pouches and the gun lacks a bolt-stop feature, the group at the range concludes that it is still a fun, nostalgic choice for anyone who prefers character over peak performance.
