Negative Airsoft tears down the E&C G28 Airsoft AEG as he does a comprehensive review of this G28 which is presented as a more affordable option compared to the VFC G28. Upon first inspection and test firing, he quickly identified several weaknesses, including insufficient power output and a low-quality stock silicon hop-up rubber that negatively affected performance.
He does an extensive internal overhaul to upgrade the rifle for a Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) role. This process was complicated by the gearbox casing, which was slightly proprietary and fractured during the build. The work involved replacing the cylinder, piston, head, and spring, and installing an adjustable Gate trigger to manage the new components.
After the significant modifications, the rifle was locked to semi-automatic fire and achieved a final power output of 1.83 Joules. Despite the challenging labor required, Negative Airsoft in the end, recommends the E&C G28 because its upgraded performance is superior to the VFC offering while starting at a much lower price point.
