In this video, Nakashi is joined by his recurring guest, Karel, to talk about an airsoft replica of the historic Mosin-Nagant rifle made by S&T. They immediately dive into a bit of nostalgic banter, reminiscing about classic Call of Duty gaming missions and joking about cinematic tropes regarding who gets the rifle and who gets the ammo on the battlefield. The weapon itself is a full wood and metal replica borrowed from a friend who uses it primarily for Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) events.
Karel explains the practical differences between this spring-powered model and older gas-powered variants, noting that the S&T version benefits from a functional, detachable magazine instead of a clunky built-in winding mechanism. While discussing the physical build, Nakashi is surprised by how narrow the front handguard is compared to standard modern airsoft rifles, though he finds it sits comfortably in the hand. They note that despite being used heavily for about two years without internal upgrades, the rifle still shoots remarkably straight and looks appropriately weathered.
The guys wrap up with a live chronograph test to measure the muzzle velocity using standard BBs. The test reveals a consistent output of around 250 to 260 feet per second, translating to a relatively low impact of roughly 0.6 joules. While they agree that it will not outperform modern sniper setups on a competitive field, they conclude that it remains an attractive, authentic option for historical collectors and roleplayers looking to turn heads.
