Stupid Airsoft does an upgrade of an Lambda Defense GHM9G, with a focus on replacing the small stock handguard with a longer, 3D-printed version. His primary goal of the modification is to increase the amount of rail space available for accessories and to accommodate a longer inner barrel for improved accuracy and FPS. The parts installed include a new 3D-printed handguard and grip, a longer outer barrel, and a thread protector, with the printed components specifically made from ASA plastic.
He starts with the complete disassembly of the original handguard and outer barrel before installing the 3D-printed mounting block and barrel nut, followed by securing the extended handguard and foregrip. The final result is a solid, sturdy modification that adds minimal weight to the GHM9G and successfully extends the rail for more attachment options. He does note one drawback: the barrel ends up being slightly off-center and pointed upwards, which may limit the choice of certain muzzle devices like suppressors.
