Now available at Tactical Gear Depot for US$94 and includes free shipping... "EKP-1S KOBPA is a mil-spec rifle scope. It is an active electronic red dot type scope made by Axion-Holding, Russia, subsidiary of the Izhmash JSC small arms factory, best known as the original factory producing the Kalashnikov weapons systems, where Kalashnikov himself is still in charge. During the last several years, Kobra rifle scope has been in service with special forces units in Chechnya and central Russia.

The scope utilises the same optical scheme as Brownell Holosight, Armson OEG, ATN Ultrasight, Tasco Propoint, and many other red dot scopes. However, it is superior to these scopes taken in one package, for hundreds of dollars less in many cases. The sight does not employ an optical tube, its an open sight. A safe small power LED laser projects a holographic reticle of choice (out of 4) onto a glass objective lens. The shooter looks through the lens while positioning the reticle pointer onto the target. There is no need to level at the target like you do with a usual scope, you can aim FAST with both eyes opened, keeping visial control over the other potential targets. There is no focus adjustements or sight alignment to think about. You simply look at the dot and when you pull the trigger, the shot hit whatever the dot is projected over. Thats why it is called a quick-response sight and is chosen by Russian special forces Spetznaz. The sight is fully adjustable for elevation and windage by the adjustment of thumb-wheels which are protected by hinged caps when they are not in use. Because there are no optical lens system involved, such as in a conventional rifle scope, there is no parallax error or focusing to worry about.

The universal siderail mount will fit almost any Russian siderail mounting base, including all of the AKM and variants (VEPR, SAIGA, SAR, AKM, AK-47, AK-74, AK-74M, AKS-47, AK-47 type 3, AKMS, AKMSU, AKS-74U, AK-100, AK-103, AK-104, SVD, Tigr, SKS, K-Var, KBI, Hesse, Century, Arsenal USA, SLR-93, SLR-95 and SLR-101, MK-11, SAR, WUM, AIM, AIMS, Md 86, Md 97, Md 90, Md 65, Md 63)

Features:

The brightness has 16 levels to choose from. This feature is extremely important for adapting to changing lighting conditions, and even night shooting. A brighter reticle also offers lightning quick acquisition of daylight close-in targets, while a finer low brightness reticle dot can be used for careful targeting of long distant targets. Many other types of electronic dot scopes cannot be used for long distance shooting because the dot they project is too big. The Primary advantage of this scope is the amazingly rapid target acquisition time. Several shots can be fired before even iron sights can be accurately aimed at a medium range target. It was designed for engaging fast moving targets and targets appearing for a short period of time in close quarters and urban combat situations in various light conditions. Was initially designed for an assault weapons. It provides clear targeting from 104 lx to 10-2 lx (daylight, twilight and moonlight), one/two-eye targeting, is very effective when shooting from moving vehicles, and allows for perfect kill shots on fast-moving, small and spontaneously appearing targets. 100% waterproof - in fact it works when submerged in water. Reticules can be selected by the simple push of a button, as opposed to having a dial them in. The ON/OFF is a rotary lever and the rheostat, a rocker switch, are all located on the right side of the scope for ease of use.
