King Arms FAL Ver.2 AEG Review

The King Arms FAL airsoft rifle makes a comeback after twelve years, proving that some things never change, specifically, how difficult it is to load a magazine without risking a finger injury. The Guns Rocks crew find the rifle quite long, stretching over a meter, and features a sturdy metal body that keeps it from feeling like a toy. Despite its imposing size, it only holds 90 rounds, which means you’ll spend more time wrestling with the stiff magazine catch than actually shooting at your friends during a match.
Operationally, the rifle is a bit of a mixed bag, featuring a selector switch that doesn’t quite click into place and a trigger that feels like it’s pulling through a bowl of sticky natto. They found some mysterious stringy grease inside, which didn't help the overall premium feel of this pricey piece of equipment. Even the battery compartment is a bit of a challenge, requiring some brute force to open and leaving plenty of hollow space in the stock for some lovely, loud gear echoes.
On the bright side, once you actually get the thing to fire, it shoots surprisingly straight and far. The trajectory is clean enough to impress, even if the tiny rear peep sight makes you feel like you're trying to aim through a needle's eye. Because of the quirky mechanical issues and the constant threat of a pinched finger, it earned a mediocre 2.5-star rating, essentially the "participation trophy" of airsoft reviews for a rifle that costs quite a bit of lunch money.
