Hyperdouraku did a hands-on review of the GunPoint FA-MAS F1 gas blowback (GBB) airsoft rifle. The FA-MAS is a French bullpup assault rifle adopted by the French Army in the late 1970s, known for its distinctive carrying handle and compact design that maintains a full barrel length by placing the action behind the trigger group. The GBB version is licensed by Denmark's GunPoint and manufactured by Taiwan's NORTH EAST, with the reviewed unit being a second-production-run model featuring various improvements.

The replica closely follows the real firearm's layout, including a metal flash hider and outer barrel, a movable grenade lug, a multi-function rear sight with elevation adjustment and night-sight options, and a front sight adjustable for windage. The fire selector sits ahead of the trigger and switches between semi-auto and full-auto, while a separate switch on the stock selects between full-auto and three-round burst. The liquid-charge magazine holds 25 BB rounds, and the bolt locks back when empty, mirroring real-firearm behavior.

In range testing at 30 metres, 0.2g BBs showed some spread, while 0.25g BBs produced more stable trajectories adequate for man-sized targets. The blowback cycle runs on the slower side and the trigger pull feels heavy, though the review notes these characteristics give the replica its own distinct feel.
