This airsoft replica is inspired by the transitional M727 carbine developed in 1985 for the UAE, which featured a 14.5-inch barrel and telescopic stock, bridging the gap between the M16A2 and the modern M4.

The M727 gained icon status among military enthusiasts due to its appearance in the 1993 film Black Hawk Down, where Delta Force operators used M727s equipped with accessories like red dot sights. The MS FACTORY replica specifically recreates the Delta Sergeant Sanderson specification from the film.
