In Issue 178, Airsoft Action bring an abundance of AR platforms to their readers. As the AR is arguably the most common platform seen on airsoft fields globally, the team wanted to highlight several unique AEG and GBB models. They were privileged to get hands-on with the new VFC L403A1 GBBR "British Service Rifle," with Bill providing his initial range thoughts and "Military Anny" reporting on the official launch event in Taiwan. The team also scrutinized two unique AR AEGs: the Delta Armory Freya Gen II and the Evolition Ghost 3.0 Viper M. This led into the Red Cell Medium Length AR Update 2025, which features all twenty AEG models that have been put through long-term testing.
Beyond the rifles, the team also focused on tactical gear and community events. Stewbacca explored new developments in eye protection at KAM TACT, while Dan reviewed the Pattern 84, a new universal pouch system. They also covered global airsoft community happenings, with updates on the rollout of the Airsofter World Games, Rich's "Return to Drakes Island" in the UK, Miguel's "Night Ops" in Portugal, and the first part of Stewbacca's coverage of the Action Air World Shoot 2025. Finally, as expected this time of year, they rounded out the issue with coverage of the 2025 UK National Airsoft Festival from Ben and Bill, who seemed to have a lot of fun. The team hopes that readers will enjoy this issue as much as they enjoyed creating it.
