AirsoftCamMan: Converting The Silverback SRS To HPA

The AirsoftCamMan tries to find out if coverting a Silverback Airsoft SRS Airsoft Sniper Rifle to be powered with HPA is worth it in this video... "Many of you will know Ive been using the Silverback SRS Covert in my gameplay for sometime now.

So yes indeed I have converted my SRS to use the new SRS Bolt M from Wolverine.

Lets take a closer look at how to get the HPA Engine into your srs.

From 1j to 3.5j the Wolverine Bolt M is extremely easy to cock, and because of the light bolt pull you can rattle off shots like wild west gun slinger, but straight out of the box, the SRS Wolverine Bolt M is louder than my usual m160 spring and suppressor setup, with the main culprit of the sound being the engine. No doubt, there will be ways and means to deaden the sound, possibly with sorbo pads or similar.

If after installing the Bolt M into your SRS you decide you want to go back to using a spring again. The modifications you made wont hamper this, and it can be converted back easily.

After a day of using the Wolverine Bolt M in my SRS, Ive come to the conclusion, that it’s not really for me. The SRS is consistent and quiet using a spring as it’s power source already. After putting thousands of rounds through my 16 inch model bedding it in nicely, I have no issues pulling the m160 spring.

I can understand some guys in countries that allow higher power, having the extremely easy cocking ability will be a god send. But for a UK user the SRS is already a heavy platform to carry around the field all day, without having to add an air-tank to your loadout.

Having used the Wolverine MTW platform for a few months now, I’m absolutely in love with it, but it just wasnt love at first site with the SRS Bolt M. Not due to the quality or performance, these factors are exceptional. It was more down to me feeling like it just isn’t necessary for the SRS.

As an end user, you’ll have to decide yourself whether the fast and easy bolt pull out weighs the extra noise and carrying the extra weight."
