"The releasable plate carrier is a smaller and lower profile body armour carrier specifically designed for carrying hard armour plates over other soft armour vests. Like the RACV, the plate carrier has a heavy duty release cord which is attached to a 25mm strap. This is currently set up on the left hand side for crossdraw pull by the right hand, but can be changed to right hand side for pull by the left hand. Release cord joins together the shoulder panels, waist panels and cummerbund panels on the lower back like the RACV, and, like the RACV, the panels come with multiple rivetted eyelets to allow adjustment for height and width

The release cord is easily reached via a flip up lid on the lower back which is sewn down at the top and fastened with velcro on sides and bottom for stability. An additional strap with press button loops underneath the bottom of the panel for added security and to prevent accidental opening. The plate carrier front and rear panels are designed to take 10x12 inch hard armour plates via an internal, bottom opening lid which is secured with an extra wide 10cm velcro panel. The front, rear and cummerbund are all fitted with MOLLE webbing throughout for attachment of modular pouches. The cummerbund attaches to its elasticated release panels on rear left and rear right with stock cord and plastic toggle lacing to allow maximum freedom of movement. The elastic panels are made from three separate sections of heavy duty 40mm elastic which are made to overlap to allow for more positive support of body movement. The cummerbund wraps around the sides of the body, giving additional space for mounting of MOLLE pouches, and attaches to the front of the vest under a MOLLE mounted panel which provides large velcro panels for the cummerbund to be closed, and also MOLLE webbing on the front for pouches to be mounted on the front.

The cummerbund opens internally to allow for addition of smaller hard armour plates to protect the sides of the body. The cummerbund can be fully detached from the plate carrier which has in itself side adjustable 40mm quick release buckles on left and right waist. An extra wide carry handle with velcro name tape patch is provided on the rear, along with D-rings on left and right below the shoulder which can be used for attaching a hydration rucksack or similar pouch. The top MOLLE webbing on the front also has a long section of velcro for name tape, blood patch or similar identification. The releaseable plate carrier wil fit body sizes from 5'7 38in chest to 6'0 44in chest. The releasable plate carrier is an excellent alternative for hard armour carriage and MOLLE mountable space to the RACV. Made from milspec 1000D Cordura with Cordura webbing."
