Another day in doing my MSM (mainstream media) scan on how airsoft is reported at major and community news outlets, I came across this very objective story of a news staff covering an airsoft skirmish game. No editorializing here as the reporter just stated what he she has seen and made no comments on the politics of airsoft in the community. Well, at least he she has seen for himself herself what other people have experienced when playing airsoft --- a more realistic, adrenalin pumping, adult version of shoot `em up games.

Attempting to view this game objectively, I had to set aside that girlier part of me. Not an easy feat given the mud and bugs everywhere. Walking quickly through branches and over downed trees, I followed through the playing field hearing leaves crunching under our feet and distant shouts of "medic" mixed with gunfire. I had to admit this game was far more realistic than I had imagined it would be. Childhood versions of army played in backyards and wooded areas have nothing on Airsoft. This is like capture the flag meets army on steroids.
