I thought we already have set aside the topic of Tactical Beards. It looks like there's still something to write about this tactical accessory that cannot be bought but grown. Just yesterday I found out that I was wrong: it can be bought. Thanks to the story link shared by AngelShogun Mitsukai Sosa on Facebook which was then shared to me by Optimus Prime; some guys (I don't think girls would) just go to great lengths to get that beard.

The beard has become so fashionable in recent years, and it's not solely about the legendary Tier 1 soldiers who operated in dangerous locations during the War On Terror, but it is more widespread in the hipster culture. We understand the need to grow beards as it was explained previously as it is more of a necessity rather than as fashion statement.

But in Hipster culture, it is a facial hairstyle which I thought have already run its course, but in fact may just be getting worse. For those who cannot grow beards, they can now go to plastic surgeons to give them facial hair transplants as reported at Gizmodo.

As for the price, it can range from US$3,000 to US$7,000. That may not look like expensive for a well-paid hipster to get a scruffy look, and the hair implants do actually grow back after being shaved. The technique is to get hair from the scalp or chest which gets grafted into the face following the look that one wants.

I wouldn't be really surprised if an airsoft player with money to burn would spend on facial hair transplants to get that Operator Look and perhaps be part of the TBOC (Tactical Beard Owners Club). Many airsofters have been growing beards for this purpose so that leaves those who cannot grow beards wishing they can. A trip to the cosmetic surgeon now solves that problem.

But then, would you as an airsofter do that?

It's really up to you and it's a free world after all so no one's stopping you if you do. I really have no qualms about airsoft players getting facial hair transplants to get that look since genetics my just be hindering them to grow facial hair. It is better than getting that TBOC patch knock-off made in China and not able to grow facial hair.

But if you don't have the Moolah to pay the doctor, the best advice is what Optimus Prime would do: get any of those Beard Beanies. You can get any colour you want to fit the situation. Even ladies can have their own beard! And save that three grand for proper airsoft equipment than making a fashion statement.
