Tunable Compensator With The "EFFIN A 556" From Ares Armor

Gungho Cowboy

This would surely catch your attention, a compensator called "EFFIN A 556". Whilst you may laugh or smirk at its name, it's really an innovative compensator as it is a tunable one --- you can adjust how gas exits from the weapon. Whilst this is very much applicable for real world weapons, for airsoft it may just be a cosmetic feature to make your airsoft gun look cooler.

So how does the EFFIN A work? It's through the gas ports that its maker, Ares Armor, put into the compensator. There are 7 columns and 4 rows of gas ports which you can open and close by the use of screws that you put into these gas ports the explanation below from Ares Armor would be better since I may just confuse you if I do my own interpretation on how the compensator really works:

"Objects at rest tend to stay at rest and objects in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Muzzle flip is caused by the pressure that is released down the center of the bore in relation to the contact points of the weapon and the shooter. Muzzle climb is solved by this device in two ways; The EFFIN-A Compensator's timed and tunable exit ports act as an outside force that returns the weapon to a "position of rest" after the round has been fired (the round acts as the initial force causing the unwanted motion) by directly countering the force in relation to the standard shooter contact points on the weapon. This Compensator is also designed to directly increase the weapons moment of inertia by accurately counter balancing the mass of the front of the weapon in relation to the force of motion created by the original force. The balance concept is similar to ancient weight ratio techniques used in spears to allow steady aim and flight."

Thus, it provides counter balancing in order for the shooter to put the rifle always on the target whilst firing, since muzzle climb would take the aim off and target re-acquistion slower. By adjusting the EFFIN-A Compensator acccording to the rifle that you put on, you can select which screws need to be removed, what screws would have to stay on, until you find the most comfortable or appropriate counter balancing to reduce muzzle climb. The photo below even shows the compensator in an exploded view with the screws out for tuning.

See it in action with their promo video below. As for its use in airsoft, as I have mentioned it previously, it may be a good cosmetic add on. The good thing with the EFFIN-A 556 is that it has a thread to even accept other muzzle devices. Expect a replica of this as soon as an airsoft manufacturer in the Far East reads this and decideds it's a cool idea to make one for us.
