Tokyo Marui To Unveil New Innovation At The 52nd Shizuoka Hobby Show

OptimusPrime

With the 52nd Shizuoka Hobby Show just a little bit over a month ago, we anticipate  what new products that Tokyo Marui shall announce during the Show as this will set the pace of what will be coming out of the Marui workshops for the rest of the year. The previously mentioned Light PRO series that were revealed during the last Japan Victory Show are just a preliminary of what the company will be focusing this year: more innovation and changes to product offers.

As a clarification on the Light PRO series which we incorrectly assumed to be aimed at the "Sportline" segment in the airsoft market, they are what we can call as the "Big Brother" of the AEG BOYS series of Tokyo Marui. Whereas the BOYS series are actually aimed at minors and not being 1:1 scale, the Light PRO series are aimed at minors (below 18 as defined in Japan) but already have developed physically that they can handle 1:1 scale airsoft guns. They are still budget airsoft guns, with compromises in terms of materials used but are now full scale airsoft guns.

Thus, the anticipation of a Marui "Sportline" series should be set aside as what we have learned that as much as the company wanted to make their AEGs affordable for a lot of airsoft players, they cannot compromise on the quality and materials used which they are committed to. To make some of their products "cheaper" will entail many compromises that the company is not willing to take.

For the 52th Shizuoka Hobby Show, Tokyo Marui, according to our sources, is set to unveil  a new airsoft model that "will have entirely new functions" to set the company apart again. Whether this new innovation will be as much praised as the new generation Shoot and Recoil Engine that was revealed 6 years ago, we do not know, but we do have high hopes that the company will not disappoint.  And just like the Shoot and Recoil Engine, these new functions are patented, with already 7 countries approving the patent applications by the appointed legal representatives of Tokyo Marui.

The first two days of the Hobby Show, which will be on the 16th to the 17th of May will be for industry visitors only, which is like how the IWA & Outdoor Classics in Germany works.  But by the 18th to the 19th of May, the Show will be open to the public, giving the general Japanese airsoft community the chance to try out the new product.

Visitors who are given Marui Shizuoka flyers from their accredited sellers in Japan can test fire the new product and the flyers will also be raffle tickets where luck winners get to win new products . There will also more merchandise that will be available at the booth apart from the Marui airsoft guns and other toys that they make.

The tradition of the giving us some photo snippets of upcoming products will still continue and this will be posted right before the Show. We'll try to find out more about the new products, but with the discipline of the company not to fully reveal products until they are done right, we might have a news embargo first until the company has finally unveiled the new products at Shizuoka Hobby Show.

We are excited as you are on what new innovations that Tokyo Marui will announce next month.
