The Type 97 is a unique Chinese assault rifle, diverging from the AK-based designs of its predecessors. It was initially developed with the 5.8mm caliber, showcasing superior performance compared to the 7.62mm. The export version, chambering the 5.56mm NATO round, was first seen in Hong Kong during the 1997 handover. Real Sword has accurately replicated this firearm in airsoft form.
