For those who haven't heard about this event Operation Irene is a very much sought after event in the Lion Claws series and something that a serious airsoft player based in the U.S. aspires to participate in. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Blackhawk Down/Operation Gothic Serpent on which Operation Irene is based on.

Most probably the most significant event in the Operation Lion Claws Military Simulation Series (OLCMSS) due to its historic significance in U.S. Military History and immortalised by Hollywood, Operation Irene 2013 commemorates the 20th anniversary of Operation Gothic Serpent that happened in Mogadishu, Somalia, otherwise more known as as "Blackhawk Down".

Held last October 2011, the DVD of Operation Irene VIII commemorating the Battle of Mogasdisho, is organised by Best of USA Marketing, is now available at Evike.com.
