The Sun Sets In The Timpire. Long Live The Timpire!

I never realised that I am processing too many images taken during the Airsoft Surgeon Practical Shooting European Championship held last 19 to 20 October and thus I am not done yet with the story yet that I am putting together. Whilst going over the photos to select, our Facebook page chimed with a wall post from Airsoft GI with news that would surprise the airsoft world --- Tim Seargeant, their Marketing Manager, will be leaving the company:

October 21, 2013 - Walnut, CA

After a long and storied career at Airsoft GI, active marketing manager Tim Seargeant will be leaving to pursue other career opportunities. During his time, Tim has been a source of entertainment and knowledge to the airsoft community, providing useful information, helpful tips, and insights to players. Tim originally started working at the warehouse and moved his way up through the shipping department to the marketing department where he has contributed greatly in making Airsoft GI the leader in innovation and customer service that it is today.

The past 6 years have been an exciting time for Airsoft GI and Tim has been a large part of the company’s growth. Airsoft GI wishes Tim the best in his future endeavors and is grateful for the time, hard work, and effort he has contributed in the success of the airsoft industry. Daniel Jaimes will be replacing Tim as marketing manager bringing his enthusiasm and years of playing experience to continue to represent sponsors and grow airsoft worldwide.

As Airsoft GI continues to grow as one of the largest airsoft retailers, both in the US and internationally, we will continue to stay dedicated to quality assurance, customer service, and bringing only the best products to our customers.

Feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions. We look forward to continuing to serve the airsoft community.

It may sound so abrupt, of Tim's departure from Airsoft GI and we should have already taken a hint as most of the recent YouTube videos being uploaded by company were mainly of Bob "The Axeman" Hildebrand. Together with Bob, Tim has become one of the best known faces in the airsoft community. Both are known like Daryl Hall and John Oates, Simon and Garfunkel, Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, or even Bert and Ernie. They worked as a team, and perhaps are most memorable for their GITV live shows and Tim versus Bob airsoft game series where Tim is Timperor of the Timpire and Bob has his Rebellion.

The last one was one of the most attended airsoft event series in US airsoft series and with Tim's departure, Bob's Rebel Training Camp which happened last weekend, maybe the last event of the series. We don't know if Airsoft GI will be having a brand new series of airsoft events to replace Tim versus Bob, but what we are sure of is that the series has been such a blast amongst American airsoft players.

The only thing that we can do now is to wish Tim the best as he moves on to pursue other opportunities which we are sure would be best for him. Indeed, it is sad to note that one of the bulwarks in marketing airsoft to the masses would be leaving, but he leaves a legacy of how an airsoft business is marketed. Airsoft GI has become one of the most recognisable airsoft retail brands not only in the USA, but also around the world.
