At the 14th Taipei Hooha Show, we usually expected nothing groundbreaking in terms of airsoft innovation, as most of the innovations for the year have already been announced. We didn't notice anything unusual as based on the photos and reports of the usual sources, but our friends at Public Enemy pointed to us on Facebook of a product that would surely make DMR fans happy with its existence --- a Shell-Ejecting Gas Blowback SR-25 Rifle from Rare Arms.

It was a golden find as we the only shell ejecting rifles that we know of and are not cap rifles are the Shell-Ejecting M200 CheyTac and M82 Barrett Sniper Rifles from SOCOM Gear and in the AEG area, it  is the Top Japan M4A1 Shell-Ejecting airsoft carbine which can also use regular Marui Magazines. The Rare Arms Airsoft SR-25 is a semi-auto firing rifle which allows you to place rapid shots than similar bolt-action gas powered airsoft sniper rifles.

The Rare Arms SR-25 GBB Rifle got its share of attention at the Hooha Show since it's a novelty in itself. We do not know though if it has an option of a gas magazine that doesn't require the shells/cartridges to shoot BBs, though we don't mind at all if it doesn't. The rifle itself is actually good for rifle training, target practice/practical shooting, and as a movie/TV prop, giving more realism than regular airsoft props and safer than blank-firing real steel weapons.

But if it's for airsoft skirmishing, then the shell ejecting feature might be a problem since costs will pile up for every shell lost. Unless a MilSim Event will require shell ejecting airsoft guns, it will be hard finding one player operating a shell-ejecting airsoft rifle in airsoft skirmish games and MilSim events.

No further details yet on pricing and release date and the next thing is for the Rare Arms to put into actual production for their project that has been in development for months. Whether it's a novelty airsoft gun, or something that has a training purpose, the Rare Arms Shell-Ejecting SR-25  GBB affirms once again the realism that can be achieved with airsoft guns.
