Now that title would surely raise a lot of hopes up in the FPS gaming world, and even in the airsoft community. When we first heard news about Simon Riley aka "Ghost", the famous operator in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, will appear in Call of Duty: Ghosts, we go excited about it. Already we know that the dog in the COD: Ghosts is named Riley, and hearing the original Ghost also showing up would actually make us jump and order the game.

In a way, it's true, but not as many would hope for. Ghost is permanently dead in the COD video game franchise and he only comes back in COD Ghosts as a come-on for those who are pre-ordering the video game via Gamestop.

Scratching your head with that news? I'll explain further…

Ghost is not a character in the actual COD: Ghosts story which you will follow in the Single Player Campaign Mode. Ghost will be merely a skin for multiplayer mode, but an exclusive skin that is different from the other Ghosts used by players in multiplayer. Ghost will be easily distinguished by those who have been playing the COD Modern Warfare franchise from the very beginning.

Thus, if you want to play with the Simon Riley Ghost skin in the multiplayer mode, better pre-order right now at Gamestop.

Some of you will be surprised why Ghost is famous after Soap and Captain Price. The Skull mask and loadout of Ghost made a big impression of amongst gamers, especially those who are airsoft players that the ski mask with the skull imprint was selling like hotcakes before. The fleece he wore were also sought after and there were lots of wannabes in the Ghost loadout posting their photos online.

As for those who have been hoping that Ghost would come back as a main character, and there were speculations before by gamers that he will come back in MW3 and even Black Ops 2. As I have mentioned above, Ghost really met his demise in MW2 when he was shot by General Shepherd and there are no plans to actually revive the character for the video game… for now.

The Pre-order COD: Ghosts, apart from the Ghost multiplayer character will also provide the bonus free fall map and Double XP launch. It will be released on the 5th of November for the PC, Wii U, XBox 360 and the PS3. PS4 version will be on the 15th of November whilst the XBox One version will be on the 22nd of the same month.
