OptimusPrime

We had seen via internet, broadcast media and evan firsthand what perhaps was one of the strongest Typhoons in history, and the deadliest Typhoon in Philippine history. Typhoon Haiyan (Philippine Code Name: Yolanda) struck Central Philippines on the 8th of November 2013 with winds from 145mph to 195mph. It left a trail of devastation in its path, 6,241 have been confirmed dead with 1,785 still missing; and around 11 million people were affected with a big number of these left homeless.

The response of the international community was swift, with governments and peoples around the world conducting sent in aid, whether money and in kind and some sent in their militaries equipped for helping devastated areas and help clear the way for aid to be poured in. It was one of the most heartfelt global effort to help a country that is said to be one of the most struck in natural calamities in the world, and what they found is a nation so grateful and a people willing to overcome trials and tribulations.

But with all the initial aid and relief efforts have been made, pledges made by foreign governments still have to come in since the long term phase, which is rehabilitation of areas hit by Typhoon Haiyan,  is still finding its momentum. It is the most important phase as it will rehabilitation will help provide normalcy, confidence, and livelihood of the people who are still finding ways to rebuild their homes and lives.

Filipino airsoft players based in the United Kingdom have again come together to do whatever small way they can to assist in their rehabilitation efforts. On the 6th of April 2014, Operation Helping Hands will be held at MadDog Airsoft in Brampton, Cambridgeshire. Everyone's invited to join in this Charity event and a portion of the proceeds raised for this event will be given to ABS-CBN Foundation's "Sagip Pamilya" (Saving Families).
