Online 360 Degree View of Airsoft Products

Umarex USA offers something new to their customers when they go to their website. They have started using a 360-Degree Product View of some of their products being sold online, and they plan to move this to their whole product range. I tested how it works, while it looks promising, the images are slow to load and they are also small to show details of the product. It would be great if the pop-up window would show larger images at least on the 500px image width and size.

Thus, I am left not impressed with this new feature and wishing that it could do more such as provide clearer images, and additional descriptions of the product when I rotate the product for me to appreciate the item further.

Why not give it a try? Perhaps you can find it a better experience than I do. Press Release below:

(I-Newswire) May 4, 2010 - FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS – (May 4, 2010) In an effort to give consumers a more detailed view of products, Umarex USA has added an option to view 360 degree "grab-and-rotate" images to the description pages of several pellet rifles and replica pistols at UmarexUSA.com. These 3D images take the form of a pop-up window which allows the user to view the airgun in all three dimensions.

The fluid form of the image allows customers the ability to "spin" the image from side-to-side to look at several angles of the product. Additional buttons give the user the ability to zoom in or out, grab and move the image to get a different angle , or to rotate the image end-over-end into a different plane of view. The stunning visual effect is accomplished through a specific process that assembles photographs from many different angles into one fluid 3D flash image that users can manipulate to suit their specific interests.

Currently applied to 16 different Umarex airguns, plans are in place to add this feature to more products in the future.
