The Blackhawk Urban Assault Vest is a no nonsense, high ammo capacity, medium profile tactical vest. The vest operates as a low profile waistcoat chassis as opposed to a full body vest, for use mainly over body armour and plate carriers.

The central zipper is not present, and the vest fastens over the front of the body with three adjustable quick release buckles at chest, mid-section and waist. Ammunition storage on the vest is fine tuned towards maximum rifle ammo, with four double rifle mag pouches and three pistol mag pouches mounted on the front for easy access. Additional pouches on this vest are a FFD pouch on the upper left hand side, horizontal utility pouch on right hand side, zippered internal map or dump pockets on left and right, hydration carrier pouch on rear, large radio pouch with cover flap and wire routing on lower left rear. The shoulders adjust over the top with velcro and the emergency cutaway system across the wide shoulder straps enable quick removal. Robust drag handle is mounted on upper back. The vest base is constructed from heavy duty Cordura Nylon which offers the strongest mounting surface for heavy ammo loads. Belt loops are provided at the bottom, however, the vest does not come with a belt. Size adjustment range over shoulders is up to 6 inches and range around the waist is up to 14 inches. This makes the vest suitable for standard heights from 5'8 to 6'1 and waists from 28 inches to 42 inches. D-rings are provided over the shoulders for attachment of comms, hydration gear or one point sling use.
